Rastafari

The word Rastafarian comes from the name of the last emperor of ethiopia- Ras Tafari. He was born Tafari Makonnen and as a child was known as Lidj Tafari (lidj means youth in amharic- ethiopian language named after the ruling tribe, the amhara) and Makonnen is the family name. Later he was known as Ras Tafari (ras is amharic for head/warrior). As an emperor he was given the title Haile Selassie, which means power of the holy trinity (haile= power, selassie= the holy trinity). This was not a name he chose but was ordained by the ethiopian orthodox church by divine right. He is known as Selassie I (the first), yet he is the last to sit on Davids throne, so he is the first and last, alpha and omega!- prophecy!

What is Jah?

Jah is the name of the most high. It is a form of Yah coming from Yahweh, YHVH, Jahovah. If you read Psalm 68 you will find his name there, unless its a new bible which has replaced "Jah" with "the lord"! You see how they still try to hide the truth, but they cant stop Jah truth and right. I and I hail Jah not god because if you want to reech someone you call them by name and there are many gods- idols, so you have to be specific.

Why call him Jah?

The ancient prophecy is that when Yesus returns he shall be given a new name (book of revelations) and this new name will be dreadful among the heathens. This new name is king of kings, lord of lords, conquering lion of the tribe of judah- this is full title rightfully given to His Imperial Majesty. The book of Daniel says that the messiah will be of flesh like man and sit on the throne of David. Selassie I throne is the throne of David as the Ethiopian royal family are direct descendants of king David through king Solomon, as was Yesus. Ethiopia is where the ark of the covenant resides and the spirit of Jah resides in it- the ancient israelites actually called the ark Jahovah! So, anywhere the ark is, Jah is, so it makes sense the he should return in ethiopia. Some years before Selassie I was crowned, Marcus Garvey prophesied; "look to the east where a black king will be crowned and he shall be the redeemer." Selassie protected ethiopia and the ark from satan/mussolini, who was bredrins with hitler/satan again, so Jah defeat the Devil- good over evil everytime, seen! So if His Majesty is the returned king/ Yesus and Yesus said in the bible "to look upon me is to look upon the Father ", then to look upon His Majesty is to look upon the Father. JAH RASTAFARI LIVE!

Although this subject is very complex and we do not claim to be experts on the subject, this is a simple overstanding of his majesty, yesus and jah. This simple definition of what we believe to be true, drives us on and

is the foundation that makes our works stronger day by day, for without the power of jah, we are nothing.

To know jah you do not have to be an expert in biblical scripture, you know in your heart if you have truly connected with jah, irrelevant of your inequities and mis givings. Righteousness is defined by your own actions in every day life and is a measure of what you choose or do not choose to do with your time on this earth, if you make a mistake put it right and do the best that you can to not harm others, treat everyone as an equal for thier part and spread love and the word of the father without appology to anyone.
